Food Theme Wedding Shower: Food Sneak Peek!

Hello everyone! I wanted to give you the breakdown of how we really made the food theme come alive for this shower! It was a long process, but we got it done! 

So the theme was food, but we couldn’t very well just have a heap of food lying around. I mean how do we have a theme about food? But then my brilliant brother suggested we have different food stations with different nationalities! Love, love, love it! So that’s what we did! We had a taco/nacho station: Mexican, a Haitian station (that’s who we are, we are Haitians, we couldn’t not have one), a mashed potato bar: American station, and an Italian station! Yumm. It became a Food Around the World theme! Though it really wasn’t around the world, I'm sure you get my drift.


Before I get into the food, I did want to start off with a guest signature platter I purchased from Etsy. I absolutely loved that it was a platter, fitting our food theme, but was also a sign-in for guests as they came in! It had their wedding colors and monogram!



Taco/Nacho Table: The Mexican table wasn’t too elaborate. We didn’t have a bunch of toppings, just the basics: salsa, sour cream, shredded cheese, and lettuce. We had a regular and a spicy ground beef filling! It was great! Sigh…


Haitian Station: The Haitian table was pretty straight forward as well. I'm glad we had heaters for the food (thanks mom!). Haitian food is always best when warm. It was quite delicious! My sister in law, is an amazing cook and boy did she cook! Gryo, Banan peze, pikliz, diri jon jon, chicken. Haitian food is a good thang!


Mashed Potato Bar: The American table was one of my favorite. I made the mashed potatoes the night before and warmed some gravy the day of, and all we needed was toppings! Bacon bits, shredded cheese, sour cream, and popcorn chicken! Lovely.

Italian table: Unfortunately, this was my least favorite table. It was so bare to me, and if I could do it over again, I would just nix it. But people ate the food! There was actually Haitian baked macaroni, we knew that people would eat it and basically its still Italian. We had yummy lasagna, again all done by my lovely sister in law. As you can see we did not take any pictures of the table. Shame on me! But I'm not that shameful, I really didn't like that table...



Dessert Table: Chocolate Fountain, cupcakes (Groupon!!), and Oreos!

Lastly, I did want to touch base with you about our Mint To Be favors! We bought a bulk from Dollar Tree of some mints, and decided to wrap them the way we did the toilet paper rolls! I also bought the wrapping paper from Dollar Tree. Printed those labels out and tied them on with ribbon!

I wish I could tell you about the food cost breakdown, but family and friends all shared the burden! Everyone pitched in to make it work and it all worked out well!


The decorations were not the greatest, but for my budget I was very happy! Streamers and tissue paper from the dollar tree and you have the décor for most of the food tables!
